Lufenuron is an insect growth regulator (IGR) that inhibits the synthesis of chitin, a critical component of the insect exoskeleton. Without proper chitin formation, insects cannot molt or develop properly, leading to their death. It is effective against various insect stages, including larvae and pupae.
